Chile participates for the third time in classical:NEXT, the leading global meeting point for classical music
From 8 to 11 April 2026 in Budapest, Hungary, Chile will participate for the third time in Classical:NEXT, the leading international gathering dedicated to classical and contemporary music. The fair and conference brings together composers, ensembles, presenters, agents, labels and cultural institutions from around the world, consolidating its position as one of the most relevant platforms for international circulation and collaboration in the sector.

Chile’s participation is coordinated by Chilemúsica, the sector brand for the international promotion of Chilean music.
At the fair, Chile will be present with Stands 49 and 50, which will serve as a hub for professional meetings, partnership building and the promotion of Chilean music within the international circuit.
The Chilean delegation will have artistic, institutional and strategic representation within the event’s programme. Chilean composer Sebastián Errázuriz will serve on the international jury responsible for selecting the official Classical:NEXT showcases, contributing to the artistic curation of the event.
The Fundación de Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles de Chile (FOJI) will participate in the panel “Expanding access to deepen excellence”, addressing shared values and experiences in the development of youth orchestras across different cultural contexts.
In the artistic programme, Chilean musician Sebastián Vergara will present a showcase at Budapest Music Center – Opus Jazz Club, one of the official venues of the event, performing for an audience of international presenters and industry professionals.
The Chilean delegation attending Classical:NEXT will also include representatives from leading institutions and projects within the country’s classical and contemporary music ecosystem, including the Orquesta de Cámara de Valdivia (OCV-UACh), Fundación de Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles de Chile (FOJI), Clásica No Convencional / A More-than-Human Opera, ChileClásico, Nicolás Ahumada, Centro de Extensión Artística y Cultural de la Universidad de Chile (CEAC), Lamotte Violín School and MusicActual.
As part of its networking activities, Chilemúsica will host a Chilean wine reception on 8 April in collaboration with Chile: Terruño Sónico, aimed at strengthening connections with presenters, agents and cultural organisations attending Classical:NEXT.
Participation in Classical:NEXT forms part of Chilemúsica’s international agenda for 2026, focused on consolidating the global positioning of Chilean music and expanding its presence across specialised circuits.
INTERNATIONAL PROJECTION 2026: CONSOLIDATION AND MARKET EXPANSION
As part of its internationalisation strategy, Chilemúsica will continue strengthening its presence in key markets throughout 2026, combining consolidation in priority circuits with expansion into new specialised spaces.
In this context, Chilemúsica’s participation in jazzahead! 2026 stands out as a key milestone. As the leading international jazz trade fair, it will take place from 22 to 25 April in Bremen, Germany. Chilemúsica will be present with a stand and a delegation of 15 professionals, along with the musical projects Camila Bañados and NUBES, by César Vidal & Nicolás Vera, further consolidating its presence in the European jazz circuit and strengthening connections with agents, presenters and international festivals.
The 2026 agenda also includes an expansion into high-impact niche circuits, with participation in WTF – Capital of Metal in Helsinki and ADE – Amsterdam Dance Event in Amsterdam, extending the reach of Chilean music into the metal and electronic music sectors.
Throughout the year, Chilemúsica will also take part in international events such as BIME PRO Bogotá, Circulart in Medellín, BOmm – Bogotá Music Market, WOMEX in Gran Canaria, BIME PRO Bilbao and Monkey Week in Spain, further consolidating the presence of Chilean music in the global circuit.
This international agenda reflects a dynamic and diverse year for Chilemúsica, spanning multiple sectors of the music industry. It will strengthen the presence of Chilean artists and professionals in key markets while expanding into new genres and specialised circuits.
