Chilemúsica returns to Circulart to strengthen chilean presence in Colombia

Chile will once again take part in Circulart, one of Ibero-America’s leading music markets, taking place from June 4 to 7 in Medellín, Colombia. The national participation will be coordinated by Chilemúsica, with the support of the Ministerio de Las Culturas, las Artes y el Patrimonio and ProChile, reinforcing the sustained internationalization work the organization has developed in Colombia over recent years.

Since the first exploratory actions carried out together with IMICHILE more than a decade ago, Chilemúsica has built a continuous presence at Circulart, generating concrete opportunities for Chilean music abroad. This new participation continues a trajectory that, throughout its previous editions, has benefited more than 50 companies and over 10 Chilean artists, strengthening networks, circulation, and strategic connections in one of the priority territories for the international development of the sector.

The 2026 delegation will include Carolina Records, Agencia Alvayay, Sonidos Crecientes, MusicActual, Isla Sonora Chiloé, Cosas Buenas, Mundovivo and Teatro Municipal de Chillán. Coming from cities such as Arica, Quilpué, Valparaíso, Frutillar, Santiago, Chillán and Chiloé, these organizations represent diverse perspectives and territories within the Chilean music industry, bringing together record labels, agencies, circulation platforms, and projects focused on international projection.

MEET THE CHILEAN DELEGATION

As part of the Chilean presence in Medellín, Chile’s official reception at Circulart — “Chile: Terruño Sónico: Toasts and Sounds Crossing the Andes” — will take place on Friday, June 5 at 3:30 PM at El Zarzao del Claustro Comfama. The event will create a meeting space where music and wine engage in dialogue through territory, identity, and sensory experience. Inspired by Chile’s extensive and diverse geography, the initiative seeks to connect territories, generate new links, and share a contemporary vision of Chilean culture in an international context.

The artistic representation will feature Paulina Pérez y Trama, a project led by singer-songwriter Paulina Pérez and based since 2021 in Chiloé, an archipelago located in Chilean Patagonia. Their proposal blends folk roots, fusion rock, jazz, and Latin American musical traditions such as cueca and huayno, while also incorporating poetry by Gabriela Mistral into a sonic and visual exploration connected to nature, identity, and collective experience. The project will be part of the official Circulart 2026 showcase program, with a performance on Saturday, June 6 at 4:30 PM at Teatro Comfama Alfonso Restrepo.

With this new participation, Chilemúsica continues expanding opportunities for connection and visibility for Chilean music across Latin America, fostering spaces for exchange, collaboration, and growth for artists and music companies. Chile’s presence at Circulart 2026 also reaffirms its commitment to strengthening long-term partnerships in Colombia, a key territory for the international expansion of the Chilean music ecosystem.

On the same day, Enzo Massardo will lead the workshop “7 Keys to Sync: How to Increase Your Chances of Getting Your Music Placed”.

Chile: Terruño Sónico. Music, wine and territory as a narrative of cultural identity

Chile: Terruño Sónico was launched in 2025 as an initiative that brings together music, wine and territory, activating live experiences and national and international showcases that enabled its proposal to circulate and positioned the brand within strategic professional contexts. This first year marked the starting point of the initiative as a platform connecting creative and productive industries, projecting 2026 as a phase of expansion and consolidation.

During 2025, Terruño Sónico was present in various national contexts across the O’Higgins Region and the Metropolitan Region, activating in territories representative of Chile’s diverse terroirs. Its first activation took place in the commune of Navidad, within the coastal dryland territory, as part of Safari Sonoro. Subsequently, the project participated in +Crea Turismo in Santa Cruz, Colchagua Valley, an inland dryland territory, alongside Sernatur and Corfo, integrating into a space for articulation between cultural tourism and creative industries.

This was followed by its participation in the Jazz ChilEUropa Festival in Santiago, Central Valley, where Chilemúsica carried out an activation combining Chilean wine and live music during the closing concert at Centro GAM, attended by more than 400 people. This experience reinforced the connection between terroir, artistic creation and cultural identity.

International projection was also a central component of the project’s development. Chile: Terruño Sónico was presented at BOmm – Bogotá Music Market, featuring a toast that brought together Chilean wine and live music for international delegates. This line of work continued in Europe with Chilemúsica’s participation in WOMEX – Worldwide Music Expo in Finland, and BIME in Spain, where the initiative was introduced as an experience that crosses music, wine and tourism, strengthening ties with strategic markets.

Chile: Terruño Sónico is driven by Chilemúsica, the sector brand for the internationalization of Chilean music, which leads this initiative by connecting the music sector with wine and tourism, and strengthening the country’s visibility abroad.

Building on the trajectory developed throughout 2025, the initiative is preparing for a year of international expansion in 2026, with confirmed participation in nine strategic fairs and markets: FIM GDL in Mexico; Circulart and BIME PRO Bogotá in Colombia; jazzahead! in Germany; Classical:NEXT in Hungary; WTF Capital of Metal in Finland; WOMEX, BIME PRO and Monkey Week in Spain; and ADE – Amsterdam Dance Event in the Netherlands. This agenda marks a new stage of growth and positioning for Chilean cultural identity within high-impact international circuits.

Chile: Terruño Sónico continues to consolidate itself as a platform where music, wine and territory converge into a single narrative: that of a country that transforms its heritage into experience and its culture into future projection.

Marineros arrives in Spain for the first time

The band will make its debut at Monkey Week in El Puerto de Santa María, along with performances in Barcelona, Madrid, and Valencia.

Marineros, the Chilean duo formed by Soledad Puentes and Cer and recognized as one of the most influential acts in Chile’s alternative pop scene, announces its first tour in Spain. The project arrives with a renewed live show, full-band format, and its distinctive dreampop sound, built on ethereal atmospheres and introspective lyrics. This visit follows an active season of performances in Chile and the recent release of their single “Lo que siento.”

With two studio albums, “O Marineros” (2015) and “Al calor de un sol que acaba de morir” (2023), both produced by Cristián Heyne and Soledad Puentes, the duo continues to expand its creative universe and consolidate a body of work that has influenced a new generation of artists. This tour marks a new chapter in their trajectory and strengthens the connection between the Chilean and Spanish music scenes.

One of the milestones of the visit will be their debut at the 17th edition of Monkey Week SON Estrella Galicia, one of the most important professional and artistic gatherings of the Ibero-American independent music scene. The event will take place from November 20 to 22 in El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, bringing together emerging artists, professionals, and delegations from various countries. Marineros will perform live on Friday, November 21 at 7:45 PM at Teatro Municipal Pedro Muñoz Seca.

The participation of Marineros in Monkey Week is supported by Chilemúsica, within the framework of the brand’s work to showcase and project Chilean music in strategic international markets. Spain is one of its priority countries, and the presence of Chilean projects at the festival aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen the sector’s visibility within the Ibero-American industry.

This is Chilemúsica’s third participation in Monkey Week, following an exploratory mission carried out with IMICHILE in 2012, which marked the beginning of a long-standing relationship with the conference. Since then, active exchange has been promoted between both organizations, consolidating a sustained collaborative relationship and generating new opportunities for artists and professionals from both territories. As part of this ongoing alliance, representatives from Monkey Week have visited Chile twice to participate in the Fluvial and Pulsar, conferences, further strengthening the connection and expanding collaboration between the two scenes.

Marineros’ tour began on Wednesday, November 19 in Barcelona (Jamboree 3) and continues on Sunday, November 23 in Madrid (Café Berlín). Both dates are part of Ciclo BaCáN, a Chilean music concert series held in Spain since 2021. The initiative, led by La Sagrada Música, focuses on promoting Chilean music and is supported in 2025 by the Embassy of Chile in Spain and the Cultural Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The tour concludes on Friday, November 28 in Valencia at Centro Excursionista Bar, where they will share the stage with Catalan artist Carlota Flâneur.

Chilemúsica conducts a survey for chilean music workers abroad

In order to support the international diffusion and export of the Chilean music industry, a tool was generated to identify the artists, agents, producers, and technicians who are practicing outside the country.

It is a fact that the Chilean music industry does not only develop from our country.

There are many agents who reside and practice abroad and from there contribute to the internationalization of our scene. For this reason, from Chilemúsica arises the initiative to open and connect the borders of the Chilean music industry for national workers abroad.

In this context, a survey for the entire chain of the music industry it’s being carried out, considering Chilean artists, agents, producers, bookers, and technicians; among others, residing in other countries.

Having this information will be vital to gather data and guidelines about the work of industry agents who live outside the country.

“We know that the music industry is one of the most affected in the world as a result of the current pandemic. As Chilemúsica, we want to know the situation of the Chilean who work in the sector and live outside our country to help them in the  promotion of their work. We do not know how long the suspension of traveling and transfers between countries will continue,” says Oliver Knust, director of Chilemúsica.

We call for you to respond to this survey to have a broader view when directing our efforts as a sector brand.

Chilemúsica accompanies your quarantine days with chilean music lists

Every week we will release lists with historical and heritage material on Spotify.

As a way to make Chilean music visible, at a time when the world is turning to a digital life as a result of COVID-19, as a team at Chilemúsica, a sector brand that promotes the Chilean music industry abroad, we made a selection that will discover the most important musical milestones in our country by decade, starting in the 1940s.

The investigation was based, mainly, on the material offered and ordered chronologically by Musicapopular.cl, press of the time and testimonial files. In addition, we will have lists by genres, labels and themes, with the support and collaboration of experts and authorized voices of Chilean popular music in its curatorship.

“In these moments of crisis, we want to contribute to promoting Chilean music through digital streaming. We believe that we should start by showing the foundations of the Chilean music industry, in chronological order and by decade. Then connect cultural and commercial relationships with target markets; Mexico, Peru and Spain. Finally we will begin to make visible by genre and fundamental artists in specific playlists. We must take advantage of the time for the reality to which the Coronavirus has forced us, in need new opportunities and bridges are born to face what is to come”, said Oliver Knust, director of Chilemúsica.

The lists will feature great exponents of the country’s musical history, various genres such as jazz, folklore, learned, pop and indie, among many more.

Rodrigo Ulloa, part of the editorial committee of Chilemúsica, comments that it has been a gratifying work where “we have tried to select old and current material and, although we still have to digitize music from other times and styles, we have found some findings such as Nahuel Jazz Quartet, one of the forerunners of the genre, plenty of material by Claudio Arrau and pieces rescued in digital format by Chito Faró and Ester Sore that music lovers will surely appreciate.”

Today we will share the first three lists with music from the  ’40s, ’50s and ’60s through our Chilemúsica profile on Spotify, an action that will be repeated weekly with more new lists.

Chilemúsica was created thanks to the work of the Independent Music Industry Association of Chile (IMICHILE); ProChile, the Undersecretariat of Cultures and Arts, the Production Promotion Corporation (Chilecreativo) and the Chilean Society of Musical Authors and Interpreters (SCD) to focus the work done with the export of national music.
